Hey friends! Guess what? My mac died. Errrrrrrgh. The Battery is toast and as I've had my beloved book for going on 5 years now, I think it's time to upgrade. And I haven't had any time to do that yet, so I haven't been able to do any photo editing which means no recipe posts! Sorry about that. But today I'm KayBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04027809763390163248noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8428713288564516468.post-23475016829520558102013-05-01T19:03:00.001+10:002013-05-01T19:03:31.024+10:00Paleo Mousse
Remember when you were little and you ate yogo like it was real yoghurt? That gloppy, runny, chocolaty stuff? Sometimes you would get the big serve with the choc chips or M&Ms to stir in?Or sometimes you would just drink it out of the little container, push it right up against your face so you can lick every last remnant from the bottom, resulting in a chocolaty ring around your mouth and KayBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04027809763390163248noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8428713288564516468.post-81103112219309498452013-04-22T16:43:00.001+10:002013-04-22T16:43:35.392+10:00Paleo Jaffa Cake
When I was young(er) I had a sleepover with a bunch of friends. The sleep part of 'sleepover' is only implied, as we didn't sleep a wink. We sat up all night and laughed, talked shit and ate crap. Oh, and we also rolled jaffas across the wooden floorboards to each other, creating a horrid noise in the echoy silence of early morning. This noise then filtered upwards to my parents bedroom, KayBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04027809763390163248noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8428713288564516468.post-44022021613780266482013-04-10T19:31:00.003+10:002013-04-10T19:31:38.097+10:00Almond choc chip cookies and the beginning of the quest for the perfect paleo cookie.
I have read so many damn blogs claiming to have the ultimate paleo cookie recipe recently. I'm not saying their recipes are wrong. I'm actually thankful for their posts. Cause it means I have a multitude of 'excuses' to try all of them. Once I accrue them all, I'm going to embark of some sort of spiritual-cookie pilgrimage to my umm,.. kitchen? It's gonna be messy. In the meantime, here is myKayBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04027809763390163248noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8428713288564516468.post-47609936648104880282013-04-04T19:03:00.001+11:002013-04-04T19:03:21.150+11:00Meal Plan - April 4th
Fun fact about me for this week: I really, really, really dislike Canberra. But I love road trips.
Happy Easter, ya’ll! I am not ashamed to admit that I bombed a small grocery store isle worth of holiday treats this weekend. Not all at once, though. Cause that obvs makes it better, right?! NO REGRETS (except for the stabbing pain in my tum tum 20 minutes later). I have chicken neck. Let me rephrase that. I have big ass swollen glands that make me look like I have a chicken neck. I don't feel sick, but it hurts my face. Woe is me right now. Thankfully, I had 1 more sweet potato brownie waiting for me in the fridge when I got home tonight and now I feel heeeeeeeaps better. If you can, resist the urge to eat these straight out of the oven (fat chance). Fun fact about me for this week - I have a problem with leopard print. As in, I have an addiction. It's a major problem. Here I am this week hanging out in Enmore while sporting one of my many pairs of leopard print pants.
I’m having such a bad hair day. About six months ago I decided to grow my hair out after having sported a pixie cut for what felt like a billion years. I miss bread. Not the wonder white, tip top, full of bleach variety you buy at woollies. I mean good bread. Organic sourdough. Irish soda bread. Vegemite and avocado on toast. Bread was such a staple in my diet, every morning for breakfast I had toast purely because it was quick and easy (I’m not a morning person whatsoever). One of my work buddies looooooooves bread. I hate wasting food. It's my biggest pet hate. It's such a waste. I'd much rather make lots of little visits to the supermarket to make sure I use everything in the fridge, than do one big shop and have to throw out spoiled food.
Let's talk about meal plans. Sounds boring right? I know. And it is boring to some. But it's actually one of my fav things to do. Bye Summer! I'm sick of this crappy weather already and it's only been 18 hours! Here's hoping we might have a few more balmy Autumn days ahead of us. If not, just make a batch of these and eat them all. Guilt free. They'll totally take you mind off the crappy Sydney weather. Eat with a big glass o' ice cold chocolate almond milk. Errrrmahgawd.

You know those days where you just want to come home, sit in front of the TV and eat comfort food? Nuggets are my comfort food. They remind me of being a kid, having play dates with my primary school friends during the school holidays and mum letting us eat nuggets and oven-bake chips.
I've never been the type of person who can just give up particular foods because they're 'bad', so when I KayBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04027809763390163248noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8428713288564516468.post-39163521754471601382013-01-31T10:50:00.001+11:002013-01-31T16:21:06.901+11:00Paleo Banana Ice Cream
I'm a sucker for ice cream. When I was in New York last year I pretty much ate the entire city clean of Ben and Jerry's. It wasn't pretty. I'm not sure where I stumbled upon this fake ice cream trick, but I know it's not only the paleo community who enjoy it, mothers are also suckers for this sugar free, kid friendly treat. It is super quick and super easy! Hey friends! Hope you all had a wicked christmas and new years.
As you can see, there has been a significant drop in my blogging of late. Sorry dudes. But I’m back to sweep away the cobwebs and fire this baby back up. I thought I’d kick off the revival with an explanation for my absence. I had the exhilarating task of making my SECOND wedding cake this year for my dear friends, Darcy and Elyse.
The Bride sent me some inspirational photos of soft iced cakes and a colouring concept that I wasn't familiar with - ombre. While the faded colour of this cake may look challenging to achieve, it was actually really easy to pull off. It’s 12.07am AEST and I’m about to eat breakfast. I’m not an insomniac. I’m in New York. It’s ok to be jealous.
Many hours of research has revealed that Murray’s Bagels on 6th Ave has perfected the NY bagel. I’m no expert on the subject. But I’m great at pretending.

My dear surrogate mother, Mumma Fish, recently had a birthday. She also recently lost like, a billion kilograms. Ok, not that much, obviously. Galleon Cafe in St Kilda is my all time favourite place to eat in Melbourne. I've been fortunate enough to travel all over Australia, both for pleasure and work. Because of all this travel, I have eaten a lot of breakfasts from all different places. I therefore believe I am in the perfect position to make the following statement. Earlier in the year I visited Perth for the first time on a business trip. Perth is stunning. I had such a great time; the people are wonderful, the beaches are stunning and the food was great.. expensive, but great. And the red-eye flight back to Sydney.. not so great. But that's a whole other story.
I was told by several people that I had to visit the Little Creatures Brewery in KayBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04027809763390163248noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8428713288564516468.post-30496643985645959842012-03-13T21:27:00.000+11:002012-03-20T19:09:43.411+11:00Cumulus Inc. and Beer Deluxe, Melbourne.

Yo kids. Here is the Drum Cake tutorial. Enjoy!
You will need
1 round ganached cake
Rolling pin/corn flour
Fondant (1 batch coloured, 1 batch white for top of drum and accessories)
Tooth picks
Edible silver paint - available from all good cake decorating stores. You can use a luster dust, but I find this must easier to use and results in a better colour.
Water
Paint brush
